Book week is when you read, read, read and read. It is
all about reading and reading. I can tell you about what I did on Monday.
On Monday there was a famous illustrator who
came for the book week. Her name was Ushma Singh. I really enjoyed what she taught us. She
taught us that a illustrator not only can design a story you can also design a poem... Aliya S., Grade 3

Really looking forward to seeing students write their book reviews and growing the bookworm that has its head at the foyer. There will be a children's book illustrator coming in to visit classes as well as a story teller telling stories by Kenyans about Kenya. I can't wait to see the pile of books donated by the students in aid of a less fortunate school in Kenya all in the spirit of community service advocated for by the PYP. Mrs. Waikwa

It's going to be a great and fun week that is coming up and i can't wait to own a book that someone doesn't need anymore.

DeleteLee says.... first of all it's an awesome idea to to have book week for the whole school to read books that they like and the the one book that they really wanted but what really find really awesome is donating books to charity for them to read and stuff, the school and students are really helping and it's a good to the charit's education

ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to book week because everyone is going to bring 2 or more books. one to donate to a children school and the other book will be switched with another person in the class and you get to take the book you switched home forever. This will be happening throughout the whole week. i think its going to be a lot of fun and we are still helping others learn with our books.

She is a illustrator she came for book week .
She showed us how to illustrate a book like she told us if you have a story and it says there was a flower and it was ten feet tall you have to draw it ten feet tall not that you write it was ten feet and you draw it two feet tall.
Mrs. Ushmer also said you stay commited to your work.
She said dont write they were big trees and you draw computers.

She taught us about haw the Mr. books were made she said.”The author was talking to his son and he said.‘ I am mister tickles and I’m coming to tickle you’ then his son said.’ haw does Mr.Tickles look like’ then that moment his dad started thinking.’ What does Mr.Tickles look like? Then that moment he thought about it and he came up with 100 ideas”. She also told us that she is going to give us 1 of her newest books!

ReplyDeleteYesterday that means 14/5/12 a guest speaker came for book week she is an illustrator her name is Mrs.USHMA SINGH .she showed as her drawings and illustrations. During book week we will exchange books and donate, we will even make our own story book and wear your favorite characters’ clothes but you have to bring 100 shillings. It’s going to be a great week.

ReplyDeleteOn Monday an illustrator came to our school and her name was Ms.Ushma. She told us that she is going to illustrate a new story and she is going to give each class the book. She also told us about other illustrators and how they started to draw. Then she showed us some of the books she illustrated. It was fun. She showed us three pictures that she had put up on the display board and she told us when you are drawing you should use your imagination. Then she drew a rhino on the board and picked one student to draw another one and it was a lot of fun. She showed us a book that looked like snakes and ladders.

ReplyDeleteYesterday an illustrator called Ms USHMA SINGH came, she was cool. She showed us her drawings on the board ,she showed us some books that she had illustrated .She had come to show us how to illustrate as it is book week ,our class is supposed to write a story and you are not supposed to plagiarism another story, which means not to copy another story. We had homework to give an idea to the class about the book, I wrote about an adventure as I love adventures. Ms USHMA SINGH is even an artist.

ReplyDeleteYesterday, we did buddy reading. We chose a partner from 6k . Because it is book week. We also had a illustrator coming to talk to our class. Her name was Mrs. Ushma Singh. She showed us some illustrations. She showed us a jungle picture and an animal picture. She drew us some pictures. She shared with us on how to illustrate. She had illustrated a book where you write about your holiday. Or. you could write what you did when someone in your family went some where and then you show it to them.

ReplyDeleteYesterday Mrs. Ushma Singh came to our school she talked about illustration. She illustrated many animal books. Mr. Books are her favorite. Almost the whole of grade 3 wants to be an illustrator now. We enjoyed when she talked about illustration.

ReplyDeleteYesterday Mrs. Ushma toled as about illustrating a book and showed as a couple of pictures that she drew and she told as that you can study being a artist in the unversity and she told as that if you copy somewones drawing you will never become a better artist and she told as that practise makes good

ReplyDeleteYesterday Mrs.Singh came and showed us how to illustrate a book and we did buddy reading with grade 6.this week is book week,during book week we will write a book with the class,write and recite poems on Thursday and come in home clothes that describe your favourite character.i think that book week was a good idea from who ever thougt of it.iwe wil also donate some books to charaties.

ReplyDeleteThis week is book week and the two most exiting days are Wednesday and Friday because on Wednesday two people came and told us a song and told us a story. On Friday is the dress down and you are spouse to where a costume on your favorite character in a book.

ReplyDeleteThis book week has been quite a success our class brought over 100 books to donate and also story moja came and tell us a story ‘’gogo the goat goes gaga in the game park’’ and also a song called ''chagua rafiki'' it was so fun.
Also there’s poem in my pocket it’s when someone comes (anyone) tells to read a poem ANYBODY IT’S SOO RANDOM.
Also my favorite on Friday we get to dress up as our favorite characters BRILLIANT

Then on Tuesday an illustrator came to our class.And also on wensday story moja came to read our class and the clasess.On thusday we had to get a poem an recit it to our buddies. I cant wait for Friday because we half to keep a poem in our pocket and When somone asks you to recit it you half to. And also you can to dress up like your favorite charecters.

ReplyDeleteI loved book week so far and I loved donating some of my story books to a children’s school so they can read my book that I have donated. My favorite part of the week was Monday and Tuesday because on Monday an illustrator came to our School and told us about the importance of writing a book and illustrating. And on Tuesday two Story moja people came and told us a story and they gave us a ordering form to order books from their company and it was really fun. On Wednesday we had a guest reader who read us a story. Today was poetry day. Tomorrow we will have poem in your pocket day and a dress down in your favorite character in a book. So far I really loved book week.
