There was once a foolish emperor that always heard the beautiful songs of a nightingale. He told he’s servant to look for the nightingale. They looked everywhere even in a dungeon. The kitchen maid (the smartest) said it was in the garden.
They all went to the garden and saw the nightingale that sung so beautifully. They took him to the emperor. The emperor cried when the nightingale sung. The nightingale was offered a golden slipper but he refused. She said that the tears in his eyes were enough......

I work in the costume and makeup design department for our full school musical “the Nightingale.”
One of my favourite steps of costume and makeup is the design process. The design process is like creating a structure because you dont make the building before you design it same with a costume you dont make a costume before you design it. I like the design process because of the colour the intrecate detail and i think i can really come in handy with designing because i think im a good artist furthermore without the design there is no costume.
Last year we did a musical titled “Out Of This World” and their was a cast of NTV that came to visit us and interviewed some of the dancerswe were informed that they are also coming this year i hope they dont have those huge cameras that stare into your eyes and make you nervous, ohh no the time has come for the nightingale that “sings about the golden moonbeam floating on a silver sea” who knew that you could have a silver sea wow imagine well if you want to se it to believe it come and view our musical “ the Nightingale.”

So you’re probably wondering who I am in the musical. Well if you are… I am...THE PRIME MINISTER, being the prime minister is not easy it takes hard work. There are many characters so let me give you the main cast.
Each and every person has a double - even I do (I wish I was an individual...laugh out loud) in the musical we have a nightingale, an emperor, some prime ministers, a mechanical nightingale and a musician! Don’t worry guys. You are still a part of us. I just don’t have enough space to mention everyone!
Now let’s get down to the real stuff who likes cheese?!? I DO I DO! Oops I got carried away I mean the name of the musical is the...The…Gibbee what’s the name? …The Nightingale!

A Musical in The Making
ReplyDeleteMy name is KK but you can call me KK. I am working in the music department for the musical. It has been awesome working with the people in my group. Practice has been very fun and enjoyable:D. Our patron, Mr Steve made us practice very hard so we could do a good job. In the musical we shall be playing incidentals which are echoes of the music that just played while the set and props are changed between scenes. The first time we met, we didn’t play any music; we just wrote our music. On the second week, we practiced the first song and were pretty good at it. On the third week we practiced the second song and had to do it over and over because some people, not naming anyone... (Shanaz!), and it was so boring. The worst part was that it was a Friday, we had just come from P.E so the room was sooo hot and stuffy.
On the third week, we met on Wednesday and we decided play a song that Shrey learnt called Clocks by Coldplay. This week we are going to er...um...find out what we are doing this week?
Anyway, I think the musical is going to be a success even though we only have one more week and the costumes haven't been made and we have not yet done a full rehearsal and the props are not finished. What could go wrong? OK I know. Everything could go wrong. But we should always think positively. Well put aside the props. And the costumes. And everything. Oh who am I kidding. Its gonna be great success! All that stuff I said before, it was..er...um..eh...part of the script! Yeah, part of the script. Heh heh. Um...see-you-bye.*Door slams shut*. You like my acting. This year there is a play in The Aga Khan Academy and in my opinion it is going to be spectacular!!!! :D The whole school has had something to do. The main cast have been practicing; there are many departments - Set and Props, Sound and lighting and many more. It has been very enjoyable for all of us. Giiibbbeeeyyy!!!

The world is a small place-and we share it equally. “Zizi cluck” you’ll be hearing this a lot from me in the Musical, I think this year it is going to be amazing; I mean every student, every teacher is working really hard. I’m the Mechanical Nightingale, it’s a really great part and I’m really excited to be singing a solo, to one of my favorite songs “ziki cluck”. “The Nightingale” is based in China and is how he is enchanted by the nightingale. Everyone needs to come watch my schools fantastic musical directed by the one the only NADIA KINYANY and Luke. It is going to fantastic because this year the teachers have given the children different things to do other than acting. There is marketing, dance, drama, sets and props and of course the one I’m in directing and script editing. It is going to be amazing it’s got a mixture of funny sad and happy. OK I know how excited you are getting but try keep your socks on until 2 weeks pass when they will be knocked off. It will be extraordinary. You have never seen children act as well as this. I hope that the musical will be nice and the set and props will be beautiful and the parents will be surprised to see how the students act, how the stage is and how the tickets will be really colorful and etc. I’m sure that so many parents will come and at the end of the musical the parents will be so shocked to see us and how we present without stage fright. I also know that the dance will be awesome and when they dance the parents will be so proud of what their children are doing. MUSICAL TIME!!! Oh, you were hoping for the actual musical. I’m just here to talk about the part rehearsed musical. Sorry! Well you know being the lead part of the musical I have to know all my co-workers, except for that short annoying dude. I’d tell you who he is but it don’t his name. And that other annoying dude who always follows me, and the one who hits everyone. She’s sooo annoying!!!Oh no, she’s about to punch me, I take that back! I take that back! I think the nightingale is about a Chinese emperor that got bored and he needed something to entertain him so he got magicians and clowns but it wasn’t good enough so they got the nightingale and then he got entertained that is why I think about the musical. Hey there! Come in don’t be shy; because I have been dying to tell you this actually I am fizzing with excitement. Well here it goes’s………
It all begins with a sunny day the last clouds just disappeared the scent of lowers were overpowering I woke up looked out and thought ‘the day wont be so bad daydreaming then I remembered today was school so I jumped of the bed and changed brushed ate and I was ready to go! I finally reached school there was Mrs. Amirault looked like she was going to burst with excitement ad finally she said we are going to have a WHOLE SCHOOL MUSICAL then there was a pin drop silence then the whole school started cheering or more like celebrating also me too!!!!!!!!
So the musical is based a Chinese myth it is about a little grey bird that is in the emperor garden she sings vey beautifully that what she sings makes people happy, guess what’s it called and no prizes for guessing!
Well come on and buy tickets and of course come to watch the musical because the best actors are gonna rock the stage, actors c’mon on the stage!!!

The nightingale is about a bird that sings very sweetly...i am telling you what i am in...So I am in the band and I play the flute which is so much fun because I am the only one in the school who plays it but the teacher who teaches us is Mr.Steve and Mr.George and they are like so exciting. I look forward to Thursday and Friday! Today is Thursday...HAHA. I’m tired unless you gave me CHEESE!!!! I need cheese... did you know that easy coach is sponsoring us.

In props we’re doing the back drop we saw the cartoon which wasn’t really exiting it was kinda disappointing i hope it’s as good as JAMES BOND i am getting HYPER. Maybe i should calm down MY SHOES ARE ON FIRE. Calming down, calming down, my feet are burning. Thanks to set and props the musical will look stunning. We all play an important role and it will be AWESOME...

My role in the musical is in SET AND PROPS. The people in my class which are also in SET AND PROPS are imran, pulkit, khushil and keean. I hope that the musical will be awesome and the drama, dancing and choir people will rock the stage. I’m sure that many families will come and support their children in the play. The tickets will be colorful and beautiful with outstanding decorations. I also know that the dance will be nice and beautiful. The teachers who are in the props are Miss.Tuva and Miss. Lesia.

My role in the school musical is dance. The teachers we are working with are Ms Aganes, Ms Jamie & Ms Muchiri. I auditioned for drama, but I was not chosen. I am happy I went to dance because all my friends were there. My group members are Himanshi, Wanjiku, Suhana,Tmar, Diya,Teje, Kongo & Kaisan.
